Eternal Investment and the Present Returns
My wife, Laura and I try really hard to organize our life in a way that reflects what we would say are our priorities. Mine break out like this (hers would be pretty close too...):
1. Relationship to God
2. Relationship to Laura (wife)
3. Relationship to Ellie (my daughter)
4. Relationship to Family (Mom, Sister, Dad, Nephews, In-laws)
5. Ministry and Mission (we both volunteer/ work with students)
6. Work
7. Hobbies (basketball, photography, video games, technology)
I try to spend my time (greatest resource I own) in ways that reflect this priority list. For instance, you wouldn't see me spending time taking photographs (#7) of my friend's family if my wife felt like and communicated to me that I hadn't spent enough time with my own (#2 & #3).
Where do you invest? Where do you put your time, finances, energy? Who are you reaching with your impact? Are you helping lives other than your own? Are you using what has been given to you to assist and reach others?
Take 30 seconds and take mental inventory of the last week... Where did you spend your time? Who were you focused on serving?
Want to know one way you can change eternity one life at a time?
